OUR STORY - THE THREE PEAKS
SOMETHING GOOD FOR MENTAL HEALTH
I thought I should share our story on this little ‘good news’ section, just because of how unbelievably proud I was (and still am) of how amazingly everyone came together after we lost Jamie.
Jamie had done the Yorkshire Three Peaks in aid of mental health, and we were all so proud of him for doing so. When we lost him, the idea was floated around of us all completing the peaks in his memory, so that is exactly what we did.
‘Mind’ was the chosen charity for us to make money for, so as one of Jamie’s best friends set up a ‘Go Fund Me’ page, we asked as many people as possible to donate.
Our huge group of people (seen in the photo above) completed the peaks on the 23rd April, two months after we lost our friend. Knowing that every step we took was for him, and that we were raising money for a charity that would help people, made the long trip worth it.
In total, £12,000 was raised for the charity in Jamie’s memory, and I could not be prouder of Jamie’s friends and family who helped to make that happen.
